Ringo Starr - a pseudonym for Richard Starkey - in 1988 already joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as the drummer of The Beatles. Now gets that honor him as a solo artist to turn. Ringo Starr is therefore the last solo Beatle who also reached the mecca of rock music, as both John Lennon (1994), Paul McCartney (1998) and George Harrison (2004) had gone before him. Also, Lou Reed yesterday, albeit posthumously recorded for the second time in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 1996, Reed was already honored as frontman of the legendary rock band The Velvet Underground. In addition, is the American soul singer Bill Withers to the lucky party which is now part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Along with him were also Green Day, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble and The "5" Royales inaugurated. An expanded committee of some 700 artists and music experts decide about joining the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Musicians come 25 years after the release of their first record entitled to a place in the famous hall in Cleveland.
